[Bug 185121] [NEW] intel graphic i945 : high cpu usage

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When thunderbird display the progress bar of mail checking (or sending) :
- Xorg process use about 50-70 % of CPU
- thunderbird use about 25-30 % of CPU

My CPU is an intel 1.6 Ghz core solo.

xorg driver : intel
ubuntu 7.10, 8.04 alpha3

lspci -v :
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) (prog-if 00 [VGA])
        Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Unknown device 0003


Steps to reproduce :
- Install thunderbird from repository

- Chose an smtp server that will refuse you (for example, smtp as your workplace, used at home).
- Try to send a e-mail, and use top at this time.
OR
- Use a imap server that is sometime long to answer

** Affects: mozilla-thunderbird (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
