[Bug 181050] selected text in thunderbird search isn't replaced when typing

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

The selected text in thunderbird search box isn't replaced when you are
typing.

type something in your search box:

/something

then double click in the text "something" so it is selected.

Now... when you start typing what do you expect? Indeed your newly typed
text will replace the selected text. In thunderbird it will append it
which is odd.
