[Bug 223915] [NEW] [hardy] at intervals, Firefox 3 shows high CPU load and intense hard drive activity

Public bug reported:

At intervals, Firefox 3 beta 5 shows high CPU load (up to 100 % on my
Intel Core 2 Duo machine with 2 GB RAM), coupled with intense hard drive
activity.

This lasts a minute or two, then stops. Every 10 minutes or so, it
happens again.
