Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
This is tricky to describe but I'm attaching a screenshot. I noticed
this the moment I upgraded from ff2/gutsy to ff3/hardy.
When I go to websites that use a large or unspecified font-size the
number 4 is almost transparent. For example, see near the bottom of this
page there are a few bullet points with figures in them. The figures are
bold and are using an extremely common font, Verdana.
http://www.useit.com/alertbox/990725.html (the attached screenshot shows
how my browser renders this part of the page)
See the attached image for how it looks for me. Here are my font
preferences in Firefox:
Fonts & Colors:
Default font: serif, size 16
Advanced: Fonts for Western
Proportional: Serif, size 16
Serif: serif
Sans-serif: sans-serif
Monospace: monospace, size 12
Minimum font size: None
Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selection above: [checked]
Default character encoding: Western (ISO-8859-1)
** Affects: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
