in gutsy, i don't see menus at all during full screen mode. When
returning to normal mode, all menus appear to pop-up. Clicking on some
entries worked as well. So I guess, this issue doesn't exist in gutsy
anymore. If you still see it with latest daily livecd, please reopen.
