On the new releases of Firefox the bookmark icon does indeed become
visible after clicking the bookmark, even when you add it manually.

I will edit the bug description to match this, as it is still a strange
behaviour.

** Summary changed:

- Bookmark image icons
+ Bookmarks don't show favicons until clicked

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: firefox

- Firefox does not store the icon of a bookmark if the URL of the bookmark
- and the page differ on an ending backslash.
+ Firefox does not store the icon of a bookmark (favicon) if the URL of
+ the bookmark and the page differ on an ending backslash.

For example, if I have bookmarked http://www.wikipedia.org I will never
get the Wikipedia icon in the bookmark.

However, if I have bookmarked http://www.wikipedia.org/ (note the ending
slash), Firefox stores the icon in the bookmark.
+
+ However, the icon does become visible once the bookmark has been clicked
+ (As of 2.x)
