[Bug 103982] Thunderbird no auto update localhost

I have Thunderbird set up to check the mail on my local machine, such as
that which cron or other system processes send.  I have it set to
regularly check for new messages in the Account Settings, but it doesn't
show any new messages, and I must manually tell it to check.
