I had the same problem before and I recommended to do some tests.
Maybe you can try these:

- start firefox from the terminal when you still have the issue. Maybe
it will print a warning/error here.

- run
     ldd /usr/lib/firefox/firefox-bin
     find /usr/lib/firefox/ | xargs md5sum
     find /usr/lib/firefox/ | xargs ls -la

and give us the outputs.
