"spring-mods-kernelpanic" in 20.04, and likely "spring-maps-kernelpanic"
Currently indicated as last updated in repository on 2010-09-29.

New upstream version as of 2019-04-27 resolving breaking changes 
introduced around 2017 with host package "spring" version 104.

I would have filed a proper bug report through the issue tracker 
infrastructure, however I am not currently ready to dedicate the time 
necessary to create another online account as seems to be required these 
years.

This game is one of my favorite "screensavers" for special occasions, 
running AIs against each other.
