I've been maintaining and developing it for the last couple of months and keep doing so. See http://tslib.org for an overview of the project.
tslib is the only touchscreen library for people who need a filter stack to optimize their UX, and no dependencies, especially for embedded devices.
So, while a few years back tslib was used because of it's userspace drivers, it now encourages and is somewhat pushing to have input evdev drivers in the kernel. The benefit it brings are the mathematical filters.
It also became easier to use, as it ships with it's own userspace evdev driver.
