1. The current version we have (0.9.7) is two years old. The upstream
development has been taken over by mplayer team recently and 4.1.3 is
first released by the team.
2. I was hoping that the merge will be done by those who handle the
gstreamer packages. It was only two days ago that I asked Sebastian
Dröge (slomo). I admit that I should have asked him earlier.
3. I have done some minimal testing with local builds and gstreamer
rebuilds. I didn't find any regression with regards to playing DVD in
totem.
4. The delay was not intentional. I have been busy working on some
other packages.
