After speaking with Emmet, who promised this to be a paying and rewarding job
and also because nobody stepped up (to late, the money is all mine!), I have
decided to go ahead and take the reigns of the REVU Coordinator during the
Intrepid release.
Some of the tasks that I have inherited from this position are:
* Maintain & develop REVU processes & procedures
* Schedule, announce, and promote REVU days
* Keep the review lag as low as possible
* Assist with REVU administration
* Participate as a reviewer
* Update MOTU Team Report on REVU activity
Due to these inherited tasks, here is some things you, as a MOTU, can expect:
* If you see a process/procedure that can help, let me know
* REVU Days, REVU Days, REVU Days </Ballmer monkey dance>
- No more watching the list grow (this includes me too)
* Breaking your login, password, and REVU (maybe I shouldn't assist in REVU
administration)
* And more (got to think of more things, but don't worry, I will let you know)
Ideas I have that I would like to see built into REVU if possible:
* Review karma - adds to your LP account maybe, possibly gets you a Golden Pony
award
* Something added to our bot that will inform us of uploads/updates to REVU
(think #debian-mentors on OFTC)
* Some type of integration/add-on that can query mentors.debian.net and let us
know if there is something already in the pipeline?
* Some type of CLI integration that can make reviewing easier/quicker
* Would be nice to have some better LP integration (ie. closing bug reports
with an upload also closes/archives package on REVU)
If you have any ideas that you would like to see implemented that could make
everyone's reviewing job easier, please do not hesitate to speak up.
If I have forgotten anything, please let me know. My ideas are not promises and
may not even be good ideas for everyone, so there for I will not promise them
at this time. Thanks, and I look forward to working with everyone come REVU
time for the Intrepid cycle!
