An updated version of usplash-theme-ubuntustudio is available in gutsy-proposed. To test it, add the following line 
to your /etc/apt/sources.list file:

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ gutsy-proposed universe

The current package in gutsy fails to display any text, which needs to be visible for such prompts as passphrase 
entry for encrypted partitions. Please give feedback to the following bug, to confirm that text can be displayed on 
the splash screen, in some way or another:
