I agree that this is kind of a duplicate of #23244.

However, this bug is not about "Multiple Latin layouts in XKB".
My original title "ctrl-z makes Nautilus exit" is bad as well.

So, we have to find a name that would better represent the bug.
I would humbly suggest something like "Gnome applications confused by previous layout" or "Selected layout not used by some Gnome applications".
Sebastian, you are familiar with the 7 duplicates so I think you are the right person to find a good name, feel free !
