i also am experiencing this problem.  i have a system that i updated
from dapper, running on a laptop.  i have a preexisting banshee library.
(in dapper, banshee worked fine)

i tried to install the gnome network manager and this does not fix the
problem.

i tried to reinstall banshee, and this also does not fix the problem.
