Hi Vivien,

I'm managing the official country level mirrors in Serbia for CTAN
(Comprehensive TeX Archive Network), Ubuntu, Arch Linux, MariaDB, CentOS,
Debian and MX Linux.

I'd like to start by saying that not all of us have the option of having
IPv6 connectivity to our servers (academic network in my case). Furthermore
https://www.google.com/intl/en/ipv6/statistics.html shows that IPv6 has
less than 30% world penetration, and only about 0.02% in Serbia (similar to
Croatia AFAIK).

I understand your concern, but what about the *Desktop* users that
predominately still don't have IPv6 access - like the 99.98% of people in
my country?

If your proposal is accepted, and becomes a hard requirement for mirrors,
I'll be forced to retire my 5 year old mirror.
