Overall I think the concept is a good one. I like the idea of having classes 
that encompass more then one "field" (example: desktop and server are 
fields) and I think it's a pretty future-proof system as things can always be 
shifted around as needed.

The only thing I would caution is that I think it's important to try to keep 
each "class" dedicated to either a single concept or a single application. 
One of the most frustrating things I find (with traditional course books) is 
when there is merely a couple pages on a particular application/concept and 
nothing more and so any system that minimizes that would be an 
advantage.
