Ubuntu-LB Team leadership

Finally an email that make sense. This has been going on for too long,
enough with the bickering an the tit-for-tat. I totally agree with the
previous entry, it is unfair to attack Mr Jocelyn and it is unfair to
silence people just because we don't agree with their opinion.

The way I see it, this is a transition period and the faster we get out of
it the better it will be for Ubuntu, Linux and Open source in general. Just
remember a few years ago (3 to be exact) most of the posts on the forum were
" I can't believe someone else in Lebanon knows and uses Ubuntu" and now we
are to the point where people are willing to spend time spreading the word
and help others get started using Ubuntu. This is a healthy sign, let's not
get tangled in the who is going to be the moderator and who is a better
leader, just remember this is open source we are talking about and it's not
a monopoly (like some other OS).

Unfortunately I am no economist and I don't reside in Lebanon, so my opinion
is solely based on what's best for the team. That said I think the team
should delegate responsibility to the best suited team members. If people
show interest in developing the structure of the team and others show
interest in designing the wiki and others have the time to help users on IRC
let it be. If we delegate those sub-projects and offer our constructive
opinion we will best serve the team. /* in my opinion */ let's stay away
from vice-president(s) and co-vice-president and all the other titles, and
stick with the only title that matters "team member".

The part that I would like to see happen is taking the NEXT step. Talking
about making the transition of users from any OS to Ubuntu/Linux as easy as
possible. Talking about pushing Firefox forward by developing plug-ins
tailored for Lebanese users (and that doesn't necessarily mean making it in
Arabic). Talking about open office and the benefits of making the switch.
Amarok and the online-broadcast, engineering tools gEDA, scilab, arduino,
eclipse, source management and the list go on and on ...

I hope this was helpful, and I hope "this situation" ends soon so we can
move on and work on the one thing that motivate all of us Ubuntu in Lebanon.
Remember Loco teams usually are defined by a geographic area in this case
this can be bigger than that and can do a lot of good if we work together as
a TEAM.

Thanks,
