色々とありがとうございました。
お蔭さまで大部分が「復活」して来ました。

(昨日気付いたのは "Software Center" を起動しようと思いました。
一端パスワードを求める画面が表示されるが、PWを入力し、改行を押すと
跡形もなく消えて、何もしません。後で弄ってみます。
しかしそれは別のスレッドをすべきでしょう・・・)
