[ubuntu-it] Problemi con unity 3d

Salve a tutta la lista!
Ho un problema sul mio computer in cui ho installato Precise: non riesco 
a far funzionare Unity 3d.
Ho testato l'adeguatezza dell'hardware con il comando

/usr/lib/nux/unity_support_test -p


che mi ha restituito il seguente output:

GLX texture from pixmap:  yes

Unity 3D supported:       yes


ma se al login seleziono Ubuntu  invece che Ubuntu 2d, mi appare lo 
sfondo del mio desktop e la barra superiore trasparente. Unity non 
emerge proprio e mi tocca fare Ctrl+Alt+F1 per aprire un terminale e 
fare il reboot.
Ho un computer con CPU Pentium IV 1,80 GHz, 2 gb di RAM e scheda video 
Nvidia 6500 da 512 MB (driver proprietari regolarmente installati e 
funzionanti).
Qualche idea?
