Ciao!
Potresti aggiungere i repo di medibuntu e scaricarti la versione per gutsy!
Per fare ciò, fai così da terminale:
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

ed aggiungi queste righe;
# Medibuntu - Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon
deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ gutsy free non-free
deb-src http://packages.medibuntu.org/ gutsy free non-free

Salva e chiudi gedit.
Dopodichè, sempre da terminale, aggiungi la chiave pubblica di medibuntu:
wget -q http://packages.medibuntu.org/medibuntu-key.gpg -O - | sudo apt-key
add -

Ora puoi installare Skype o da terminale o da Synaptic in tutta
tranquillità!
