I am pretty sure I'm not confusing anything. I can put a GPL header on
code that resides on my own hard drive at home, but that doesn't make
it
GPL even if I let others see the code under an understanding they won't
share it, and will consider it closed source (which a private project
on Launchpad, with a proprietary tag, and understanding with the
parties
involved, certainly does).
I think there was never any doubt that the code was proprietary, from
any
party involved, since a lot of the issues surrounding the FloodBots
have,
in fact, been about people complaining about how closed source they
were,
and wanting them to be opened up.
I hope there is not, and there will not be, an understanding from any
party that my code is "technically" open source, but as a favor, you
are
not going to use it since I stated I consider it proprietary.
That would be a very funny thought, and clearly inaccurate.
