Agreed, for what I'm concerned; legal statements in the IRC guidelines (also 
considering they're published on a wiki) hold little water. On the other 
hand, I suppose they can't hurt very much, either.

But then, it is a side issue: we *already* have official logs published, so 
whatever copyright arguments may be put forth against IRSeek could be used 
with the Ubuntu logs, too.

But honestly - copyrightability of short phrases said in a chatroom 
contingently in order to ask or reply to real-time support questions? I doubt 
it.

So in any case, I really don't think we're *relying* on any legal statement in 
the guidelines; it's an add-on at best.
