Need assistance

Hi,
   
  Can I install the ubuntu 7.10 Operating System on the following computer:
   
  * 4800 + Amd Processor
   
  * Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H mother board.
   
  * 160 GB sata hard disk
   
  * 1 GB ram.
   
  Please do reply and with the clear steps (if possible graphically, if you have weblink on your website).
   
  This is becuase I have readon many forums regarding error message will display regarding Sata hard disk not being recongized.
