[ubuntu-in] Portable Ubuntu Server

Hi,
I was looking for some cheap hardware on which I could install Ubuntu Server
and use it. I know old laptops or rather spare laptops is one option but are
there other open (open to linux installations) hardwares that contain all
the requirements for a server?

I need a local server to try new things and not really to keep it permanent
as a real server. What options do I have?
