I have two hard drives on my pc.By default the partitions need authorization
in karmic. So I planned to disable that.
1-installed pysdm tried all options but hardly succeeded ,then
2-i tried these chown root $(which ntfs-3g)
chmod 4755 $(which ntfs-3g
Everything worked fine for the drive which has filesystem but the second
drive has errors while mounting and unmounting partitions.
the error while mounting
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 1: helper failed with:
Mount is denied because setuid and setgid root ntfs-3g is insecure with the
external FUSE library. Either remove the setuid/setgid bit from the binary
or rebuild NTFS-3G with integrated FUSE support and make it setuid root.
Please see more information at http://ntfs-3g.org/support.html#unprivileged
i can mount in terminal but not graphically.
like wise unmounting gives error as
Error unmounting: umount exited with exit code 1: helper failed with:
umount: only root can unmount /dev/sdb1 from /media/sdb1
Now i removed pysdm and installed ntfs-config
then tried this ---- sudo gedit
/usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.freedesktop.devicekit.disks.policy and
changed a line in system internals to "yes"
both of these have same result that the filesystems are mounted
automatically.
But the partitions on the 2nd drive have same error while unmounting.
Pls help how to revert all these happened.
