How have you configured your broadband connection? You should put the
router in routed mode (not bridged), configure connection settings
like user/pass on the router and start DHCP server on the modem.
By the way I am not sure why you bought a switch. You could have
easily bought a new router with more than one ethernet + wifi ports.
