[ubuntu-in] Problem in booting ubuntu 10.04 lucid

Namaskar.
Yes Nandanjii is true. I went in GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet
splash". and changed "quiet splash" as "i915.modeset=1" and it is
working now.
Just one problem i am feeling that when ubuntu boots then screen
become black and then logging window appears asking my password. I
don't know why screen becomes black.
I have dell latitude D400 laptop.
