Ekiga crashes every time a call connects

I would like to use a webcam to do a video chat

the webcam is a usb based one
snipped output of lsusb -v is below
Bus 003 Device 004: ID 0c45:613c Microdia PC Camera (SN9C120)

There is a second issue concerning my USB webcam - it seems to hang my
system when i try and use someother programme like cheese to view the
webcam output in video mode ?? for this i am posting another mail

so what do i do to make ekiga work properly
