Some of my friends provided links to rescue your jaunty and some to
reinstall a new OS, but i will guide your to rescue jaunty if few
steps

1) Boot live CD, open Terminal
2) type in these commands
   a) sudo grub (a new command line opens with prompt>)
   b) find /boot/grub/stage1
      Output: (hdx,y) (similar to that)
The above output means grub is installed on x drive and y
partition, so if more than one output (in your case one for ubuntu one
for suse) find out which drive has ubuntu or try both
   c) root (hdx,y)
   d) setup (hdx)
3) exit and reboot
4) happy ubuntuing

any probs mail me back
