[ubuntu-in] drive mounting but space running out

hi.i use ubuntu 8.10..i have very less space left on my root drive(200 mb
appox) but i have lot of space on my other media drive eg. hda6 (more than 2
gb) but when i am downloading a file from net and storing it in my
hda6....the space 200 mb is getting deducted and though all drives are
mounting properly /media free space is not being considered(it is
ntfs).After arnd 200mb of download it is givin 0 mb left and says it cannot
download as no space is left.Though files aere gettting saved in /media/hda6
i am not able to download more
than 200 mb.Why?????Any solution????
