[ubuntu-in] problems connectiong Airtel GPRS phone to Ubuntu

I am using Airtel GPRS in my Moto V3i phone, when i tried to connect
it with my Ubuntu 7.10 system using USB, i tried in following way but
getting errors like this

francis at francis-desktop:~$ sudo wvdialconf create

Modem Port Scan<*1>: S1 S2 S3
Sorry, no modem was detected! Is it in use by another program?
Did you configure it properly with setserial?
