[ubuntu-in] what is the root password for LiveCD(ubuntu7.04/7.10)

[74yrs old]

I am running LiveCD ubuntu 7.04 without installed.  In order to run terminal
as *root*
what is the password  or procedure to be followed to work in root (~) not $
