List,

It is a very /ajeeb/ problem. And I am not able to
understand what's causing it.

My friend's computer is an old one (>4 years) has 256
MB of RAM and Ubuntu 7.04 installed without problems.
Since, he uses a software called "raspppoe" on Windows
XP, I started pppoeconf after booting into the LIVE
CD. I managed to configure the internet connection by
answering a few questions in the wizard and voila!

However, now after installing Ubuntu 7.04, he tried
running pppoeconf and configured it. Though the
terminal says "rs-ppp loaded" (or something similar),
the browser (Firefox) still displays "Server not
found".

I asked him to modify /etc/resolv.conf with an OpenDNS
IP address. Didn't help!

I'm not sure if IPv6 is enabled. (How do I disable
it?)

On ubuntu forums, one killed "dhclient" service which
was causing a problem to him.

What are the files (config files) created / edited by
pppoeconf? (Couldn't find this in manpage)
