[ubuntu-in] Connecting Internet

Folks,
Sorry for responding a little late... but i'm still unable to connect... here is what I get when i type ifconfig.... I think part of the problem is that i use a wireless router (Netgear WGR614v6) in between. (wireless is for my laptop though, whch runs XP) Ubuntu is on my desktop pc.
Desktop>>>>> netgear router>>>> Dlink ADSL modem>>>>> Internet.
Thats how im set-up!!!

You need to set the Ubuntu machine to use DHCP
On an un-related note..
Are you running pppoe on the DSL router or the Wifi router ?
If you are running it on the DSL router you'll face problems with some
apps/protocols because you are double NATed
