[ubuntu-in] desperately seeking PCMCIA modem that works on Linux

Hi

Am quite frustrated with winmodems that don't work on linux. And would 
rather pay for hardware that the conexant drivers. Finally i live very 
far from any city s- so find it difficult to make the time to go to some 
hardware bazaar to test out compatible PCMCIA modems so am asking for

1. Suggestions for PCMCIA modems that work on Linux (if possible based 
on personal experiences)
2. Places where they can be bought (in india - esp delhi, bangalore , 
chennai)

would appreciate you suggestions
