[ubuntu-in] Rejuvenating the LoCo team

Hi,
I don't know whether I should be saying this (considering I myself
haven't been active), but I think ubuntu-in.org LoCo team is slowing
down a bit. Going through the logs, it seems that the most popular
article on our site is the year-old article that I wrote for SATA RAID
on Dapper. It is sad that no major articles of note have been put
forward in the last one year, apart from the Broadband and GPRS
articles.

I'd like to invite suggestions for revamping and improving the content
on ubuntu-in.org website. Please note that when you put forward
suggestions, you better be prepared to implement them yourself. ;)

One aspect I'd like to see addressed at the website is that there are
hardly any screencasts. I remember that people on the IRC channel were
discussing about Istanbul sometime ago. What has been the progress ?
Who can make a screencast on how to install and use Istanbul to make a
screencast. :) Another one on getting 3D desktops, the Ubuntu way ?

I'd also like to see people contributing tutorials on programming.
Sun's J2EE stack is being shipped in Multiverse, who is the resident
Java guru here who'll be doing an article/screencast on using that to
get started ? How about a Django screencast ? Extend that with a
screencast on adding AJAX to a sample Django application. Weren't some
members of ubuntu-in working on some sort of 8086 simulator or
something similar ? How about an article/screencast on that ?

I'm throwing up ideas here. I'd like to hear what others have to say.
