Let us solve this confusion first. Your first mail had stated you are
not able to play songs (which means you are able to play sound

helpful in finding the problem.

Again, a small confusion. You say you can not play any audio file in
the computer. And the following lines talk about CDs. Are you meaning
that you are not being able to get sound when a song in the CD is
played ? Then, can you try copying it over to the hard disk and play it ?

Are the files not playing, when the files are in the CD or when the
files are located in your hard disk ?

What I mean to ask is, is this problem concerned only with playing
audio/video from a CD or it is also applicable for those saved in the
hard disk ?
