Thanks Darren,

IRC baffled me when I started and I am still slow at it!

At the next meeting I hope we will be able to agree on an acceptable
frequency for these meetings. I doubt if we will be holding them
monthly as that would likely be too much at present.

At meetings we discuss all sorts, organising events, team administration
activities and anything else that crops up.

If you have the interest and the time you could look back over our
historical meeting logs which can be found at:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IrishTeam/IRCMeetings

In recent times we have been moving over to the loco team portal for
recording meeting details. You can review the more recent meeting
agendas and logs at:

http://loco.ubuntu.com/teams/ubuntu-ie/meetings/history/

The upcoming meeting agenda items thus far can be found on:

http://loco.ubuntu.com/meetings/ubuntu-ie/630/detail/

Of course everyone is free to add a topic to the agenda if they wish.

And finally Internet Relay Chat is a text based chat. People join
specific channels within a network. For the purposes of this meeting we
ask people to join the #ubuntu-ie channel on the freenode network.

Arguably the easiest way to accomplish this is through webchat at:

http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=ubuntu-ie

choose a nickname, deal with the captcha and click connect. A few
seconds later you should be in.

I suggest you try it sometime before the meeting to familiarise yourself
with it.

Thanks for this mail and please let us know if you have any other questions.

Best Regards,

Mike
