Asus eee pc's

There's a page on the ubuntu wiki with the list of various netbooks
and what level of support that they fall into:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupport/Machines/Netbooks

If they're committed to a netbook then I'd recommend one from the tier
1 category. They're most likely to have the standard atom cpu /
945gse chipset and gma 950 graphics which are known to run well. I
would specifically stay away from netbooks that have the gma 500
graphics accelerator as it seems to be ill-supported at the moment and
intel don't appear to be helping much.

Barry.
