Hello everyone.
It's a very naive question, but... it's always a good idea to
acquiring new knowledge.
I would like to ask if it's normal, that Update Manager (or APT) retrieves
an informations about available updates - indexes of available packages via
HTTP protocol? Whether there should
not be used a protocol for a secure communication? Of course
I'm thinking of HTTPS protocol.
Generally; whether may it have an impact on a system safety in
any way? I'm curious and, honestly, a little surprised, but maybe
everything is okay?
Best regards.
