Hi
I would like to know if I should install a generic-pae kernel
when my computer support NX bit? For now, I'm using non-pae
generic kernel and NX is not enabled. My computer is an
Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU E3200 @ 2.40GHz (dual core).
Do I have to install only linux-image-3.2.0-39-generic-pae package and
NX protection will be activated during system start? Here's the information
from e.g. '/var/log/dmesg' file about NX bit;
*Notice: NX (Execute Disable) protection cannot be enabled in hardware:
non-PAE kernel!
NX (Execute Disable) protection: approximated by x86 segment limits*
Cheers.
