I (probably wrongly) assumed that that would be a problem requiring 
recompiling too many other things for it to be useful. I suppose its not 
so bad, recompile with right flags and drop in a new libc. Any gotchas 
there? we have a package deployment/management infrastructure already, 
so thats not a problem.
