Yes, it's a problem in gnome-settings-daemon, like I said when this came
up earlier.

unity-settings-daemon got the patch for KEY_MICMUTE recently:
unity-settings-daemon (14.04.0+14.04.20140402-0ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=low

* define XF86AudioMicMute as a mic mute key
gnome-settings-daemon didn't.
