For the bug concerning transmission (
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/transmission/+bug/1187061), it
has been fixed upstream in 2.80. I am currently using a custom build from
trunk to be able to use transmission. Hoping 2.80 and associated deb
package will be soon released in Ubuntu repo.
