@ Samar: Thanks for the help. Arduino is great as embedded system but I couldn't find a way to use it with linux. gumstix is nice but expensive. As for beagle board, they made a new version called panda board indicated before by Ahmed Kamal, but as I said, they're too expensive. the best alternatives I found so far are http://www.raspberrypi.org/ indcated by Ahmed Kamal and http://bifferos.bizhat.com/ that I found in the community -> hardware page on http://free-electrons.com/. I don't need python now but I may need it later so thanks anyways.

Hello Guys,

I was interested by the talk here & I'm going to work on Embedded System via Linux so I'm following this account on Twitter https://twitter.com/#!/embedsys & they're helpful guys & posted to me 4 links about how to work through Linux with embedded systems here are they:

http://www.arduino.cc/, http://www.gumstix.com/, http://beagleboard.org/, http://www.uclinux.org/

and some links about Python too:

http://www.tinypy.org/, http://code.google.com/p/python-on-a-chip/ I don't know if they'll be helpful to you @Islam or not but I think they might be.

I checked the video and the project is great, I also checked free-electrons.com and I'll dig it more later. I'll need to meet you to get some tips about making a similar project, but right now I'm having final exams and I'll finish on 22/6. We can meet after that date if you don't mind. Right now it'd be a good idea if you tell me what I need to know before I start working on such a project so I can read about it in my free time.

Hi Islam,

My graduation project was about embedded Linux, we talked about it here earlier in this thread https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-eg/2010-November/001402.html

Our main study materials were from http://www.free-electrons.com/
I'm ready for any help, just let me know
