I wasn't using VNC (yet). I was using good old-fashioned 'ssh -X' with
Xnest/gdmflexiserver, mainly because in an ideal world, I would like to
be able run the full desktop from a login manager and under an
environment that is as close to native Ubuntu as possible for each
supported release. Dapper is less important X11, cause desktop support
expires in June. I'll continue to play around with it; I'm sure I can
get acceptable speed using low bit depths in VNC....
