[ec2-beta] ioctl error during Saving of Customized Linux Amazon Instance

Hello I have created an instance of a x86_64 install (storing it on S3).

I've been following this guide:

However during the execution of  ec2-bundle-vol   I receive the error:

ioctl: LOOP_CLR_FD: No such device or address

As well as the errors:

Unable to read instance meta-data for ancestor-ami-ids
Unable to read instance meta-data for product-codes


The earlier sounds much more concerning then the later.

I am now able to run the newly created instance and things seem fine; 
however, I'd like to be able to explain the ioctl error.

Any assistance is appreciated, suggestions for further documentation 
included.
