Thanks, yeah, translations are handled a bit different.

Since you mention translations, and are working with Dutch translations,
I'm afraid I have some bad news.

Previously, when the whole Ubuntu Desktop Guide resided in ubuntu-docs
(the ubuntu-help template), it was fully translated to Dutch.

In 17.10 the desktop guide will consist of these three packages:

gnome-user-docs (the bulk of it)
gnome-getting-started-docs
ubuntu-docs (only a few pages)

Translations for the both GNOME packages will be fetched from upstream,
and when looking there for Dutch, it looks good for
gnome-getting-started-docs:

https://l10n.gnome.org/vertimus/gnome-getting-started-docs/master/getting-started/nl

but not so good for gnome-user-docs:

https://l10n.gnome.org/vertimus/gnome-user-docs/master/gnome-help/nl

Hopefully it's possible to improve it by merging an ubuntu-help PO file
into the upstream one, but...
