[desktop] Ready to go?

My feeling is that we have addressed the most important update needs
now, and that we will be able to pass a decent set of docs for Ubuntu
16.04 to the translators. Many thanks, Mark and Doug, for responding to
my help request and for your great work!

I have noted four things which will need to be discussed/fixed the next
few weeks:

* apt links
* icons not showing in 16.04
* updated screenshots
* Xenial mascot

Is there anything else?
